On 7 February 2026, in the morning, Ukrainian forces carried out a combination of drone and two ballistic (likely HIMARS) missile strikes at the energy infrastructure (Thermal Power plant 'Luch') in Belgorod city, Belgorod. Following the strikes, a massive blackout again occurred in the city and neighboring areas, heating and water supply were disrupted, causing the regional humanitarian catastrophe. The objects of energy infrastructure were seriously damaged, as well as 4 cars. Russian forces claimed to have shot down 3 drones (airplane-type). Up to an 80 thousand residents were left without heating. 1 civilian received injuries to his foot and sought medical attention on his own the following day.
