Projectile event in Sagaing, Myanmar on Sat 7th February 2026

On 7 February 2026, near Tha Yet Khon village (Kawlin township, Kawlin district, Sagaing region), a combined force of resistance forces attacked a Myanmar military column advancing towards Tha Yet Khon village. The combined force includes the Arakan Army (ULA/AA), the People's Defense Force - Kanbalu, the Sagaing Region Defense Forces, the People's Defense Force - Kanbalu District, the People's Defense Force - Khin-U (PaKaPha), the People's Defense Force - Kanbalu District (Drone Force and Artillery Battalion), the People's Defense Force - Kyunhla (PaKaPha), the People's Defense Force - Taze (PaKaPha), the People's Defense Force - Kawlin (PaKaPha), and the People's Defense Force - Kawlin District. Two members of the People's Defense Force - Kawlin District were killed during the clash. 96 military troops were killed and 101 military troops were captured as prisoners of war during clashes across Kawlin and Kanbalu townships between 19 December 2025 and 8 February 2026. 20 military soldiers were killed on 30 January 2026 in Koe Taung Boet village alone. 96 fatalities split across 13 events (Tha Yet Khon village from 7-8 February 2026; Kanbalu township from 19-21 December 2025; Pay Gyi village from 20-21 December 2025; Hnget Pyaw Taing village from 20-21 December 2025; Koe Taung Boet village from 28-31 January 2026), and coded as 9 (7 military troops and 2 PDF members) for this event.
