On 7 February 2026, a VBIED exploded, targeting the military commander of Al Aqrud front in the Taizz axis, in Al Kadama near Al Khalil (Al Misrakh, Taizz). The explosive device was remote triggered and planted in his military vehicle. The explosion occurred as the commander's vehicle was parked at the Al Aqrud front's headquarters resulting in damages to the vehicle. The commander survived what was labeled an 'assassination attempt'. There were no casualties.
