Projectile event in Amhara, Ethiopia on Sat 7th February 2026

On 7 February 2026, ENDF, Amhara regional riot police, and Kebele militia clashed with Fano (AFNM) in Mengist (Kewet, North Shewa, Amhara), leading to the killings of many forces on both sides. The state security forces mobilized from Kobo, Tere, and Wekfile Kebeles began the clash to control the Fano movement. Fano responded with counter-offensive strikes, and it accused the state security forces of using heavy artillery during the clash, which hit civilian residential houses and caused the killing of civilians. The clash continued for three consecutive days until 9 February 2026 (coded separately). Unspecified number of fatalities coded as 10, split across the three dates, and coded as 4 for this event.
