On 7 February 2026, the Malian army announced that it conducted three airstrikes against armed militants (likely JNIM, based on location) in the western area of Segou (Segou, Segou, Segou). The first airstrike neutralized (meaning killed) around 15 militants who were trying to hide in a wooded area. The second airstrike neutralized (meaning killed) approximately 10 militants and destroyed their logistics as they attempted to land a pirogue on a riverbank. And the third airstrike neutralized (meaning killed) about 10 militants on motorcycles. 35 (15+10+10) fatalities coded.
