SAA event in Para, Brazil on Sat 7th February 2026

On 7 February 2026, in Portel (Para), unidentified gunmen shot and killed four people in a series of attacks across the municipality. Occupants of a black vehicle without license plates opened fire on municipal guards patrolling on motorcycles near the intersection of 31 de Marco Street and 1 de Maio Street, killing two and injuring two others. Gunmen also shot and killed two additional men in separate locations: a suspected member of a drug trafficking group inside a residence in the Cidade Nova neighborhood and another man inside a house in the Portelinha neighborhood. The perpetrators abandoned and burned the vehicle used in the attack. The motive for the attacks remains unclear. 4 fatalities.
