SAA event in Iran, Islamic Republic of on Wed 7th January 2026

Seyyed Mehdi Rahmati, a 54-year-old Kurdish citizen from Divandarreh and father of two children, was injured on January 18, 1404, during the popular protests in Islamshahr, Tehran province, by being hit by shotgun pellets fired by the military-security forces of the Islamic Republic, and his wife transferred him to Saeidieh (Imam Reza) Hospital. At the hospital, his wife was asked to leave the area and return the next day. However, in subsequent inquiries by the family, no answer was provided regarding his physical condition or whereabouts. After four days of inactivity and follow-up, the family learned of Seyyed Mehdi Rahmati’s death and received his body. The funeral was held on January 13, 1404, in the village of “Serughorkhan” in Divandarreh.
