Amir Hossein Mirzaei, 23, was killed by the military-security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran on January 8, 1404, during the popular protests in the city of Gorgan, by a gunshot to the head. After 3 days of insecurity and searching, the family identified his body in the morgue of one of the hospitals in the city. Based on the information received, government institutions pressured the family to introduce Amir Hossein Mirzaei as a "Basij" in order to hand over the body to the family. The funeral was held on January 11 in the city of Khalkhal, Ardabil province, with limited attendance of family members. Amir Hossein was a Kurd from Kermanj and from the village of "Kalar" in Khalkhal city, and he had a fabric shop in the city of Gorgan.
