On 6 February 2026, an ISPP suicide bomber of Afghan origin detonated himself attacking a Shia mosque (Imambargah Qasr-e-Khadijatul Kubra) during Friday prayers in G-6 sector of Islamabad city (Islamabad, FCT), resulting in at least 32 fatalities and 169 injuries. The attacker was intercepted by security personnel at the entrance, after which he opened fire and detonated himself at the main gate. 33 fatalities (including the suicide bomber) and 160 injured.
