On 6 February 2026, between Ocana town and La Ermita (Norte de Santander), suspected ELN members shelled the local military base with improvised mortar launchers mounted on a tipper truck, injuring several people, including two soldiers, and causing significant material damage and power outages. Authorities attributed the attack to suspected members of the Carlos Armando Cacua Guerrero Front of the ELN. After the explosion, troops in the area responded with gunfire, killing one of the perpetrators and arresting another as he attempted to flee. Authorities stated that the attack was an ELN retaliation for recent operations against the group, including an airstrike and clashes on 4 February in Tibu (coded separately). 1 fatality.
