On 5 February 2026, six gendarmerie officers, helped by villagers (coded as Ambatolahy Est Communal Militia), clashed with six dahalo in Ambohimasina (Betafo, Vakinankaratra) after a zebu was looted the day before in Ambatolahy Est (coded separately). 5 dahalo were killed, and one dahalo escaped. 2 villagers were injured and were hospitalized. The seven recovered zebu were returned to their owners, and a homemade rifle was retrieved.
