On 5 February 2026, in Hlaingbwe township (Hpa-An district, Kayin state), the Myanmar military launched drone strikes twice using 2 Kamikaze drones against the headquarters of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNU/KNLA) Brigade-7, at around 7:40 am and 8:00 am, on the 75th anniversary of the KNU/KNLA. Location coded as Hlaingbwe township, as Brigade-7 is located in Hlaingbwe township. The drones landed in the forest. There were no casualties.
