On 7 December 2019, drones flown by an unidentified military force targeted, presumably with some missiles, pro-Iranian militia positions in the Al-Hezam Al-Akhdar area on the outskirts of town of Al-Bukamal which killed at least 5 pro-Iranian militiamen.
