Around 3 February 2026 (between 31 January - 6 February), the Indonesian security forces dropped bombs from drones on civilian settlements and refugee camps in Makuma village in Kembru/Yimuk district (Puncak regency, Central Papua province) amid a military operation by the military and police forces using ground personnel and helicopters from 31 January to 6 February. This was a claim made by the TPNPB spokesperson. Casualties and the motive were unknown. Residents (likely including Papuans based on the location) fled their houses.
