On 2 February 2026, in Maw Gyi village (Kyaukpyu township, Kyaukpyu district, Rakhine state), the Myanmar military conducted airstrikes and dropped 5 bombs using a paramotor on the village at around 5:00 pm. 2 houses were destroyed. An 85-year-old IDP man was killed and 2 other civilians (a 60-year-old man and a 65-year-old man) were injured. 1 fatality.
