On 1 February 2026, an armed clash broke out between TPNPB and the Indonesian military on the Sugapa-Jalai route in Intan Jaya regency (coded at Sugapa district, Central Papua province). The military claimed that two rebels died. The military confiscated several items from the rebels, including a long-barreled SKS-type firearm, ammunition, a mobile phone and its charger, a bow, and a Morning Star flag.
