On 31 January 2026, Israeli helicopters launched three airstrikes near al Jalaa area, north of Gaza city, coded to Gaza - Sheikh Radwan (Gaza City, Gaza Strip), casualties unknown. This event occurred in a Hamas-controlled area of the Yellow Line. According to the IDF, they targeted four commanders and operatives from Hamas and PIJ, as well as a weapons depot and two launch pads in central Gaza. Israeli forces launched a wave of airstrikes across the Gaza Strip in response to an incident in Rafah the previous day in which 8 Hamas militants emerged from a tunnel before being targeted by the IDF.
