On 29 January 2026, in Daw Ngan Khar village (Demoso township, Loikaw district, Kayah state), fighting broke out between the Myanmar military and the People's Defense Force (under NUG) Battalion - 1109. During the armed clash, the military fired heavy weapons. A member of the PDF Battalion - 1109 was injured and died of injuries around 5 am on 31 January 2026. 1 fatality.
