The Paungde Township People's Defense Force (PPDF) Battalion 3601 announced today (February 13) that two Military Council troops were killed in an attack on the council's checkpoint in Bu Pyaw village, Poti Koan Township, Pyi District, Bago Region.

At 6 a.m. on February 9, resistance forces arrived and attacked the checkpoint. Battalion 3601's intelligence and information officer, comrade Sha Doe, said the troops fled into the village upon arrival.

Sha Doe stated: "We detonated a mine as soon as they arrived. Then we fired small arms. They fired back a couple of shots and ran into the houses where people live."
