On 26 January 2026, in Rio de Janeiro - Southwest Zone (Rio de Janeiro), the military police exchanged fire with CV members in the Gardenia Azul neighborhood. Agents went to the location after CV members shot and killed a militia member in the Jordao community, in the Taquara neighborhood (coded separately). In an attempt to escape, suspects kidnapped a driver and created barricades with burning objects to set up roadblocks on Ayrton Senna Avenue. Officers rescued the victim and arrested the suspects, one of whom was injured. There were no fatalities.
