On 24 January 2026, Ukrainian forces fired 24 HIMARS missiles at the city of Belgorod. No casualties, a major local power plant, 9 cars, and 1 outbuilding were damaged. There were temporary blackouts and heating disruptions in the city. Fires broke out across the city. The Governor of the Region called the attack 'the most massive missile strike on Belgorod ever'. According to the local sources, the power plant was struck twice in succession.
