On 24 January 2026, in Mu Ywin village (Kyaukpyu township, Kyaukpyu district, Rakhine state), the Myanmar military conducted drone strike and dropped bombs with a suicide drone at a village school where the IDPs were staying around 12:50 pm. 2 IDPs (an 81-year-old woman and a 56-year-old man) were killed and 5 IDPs (a 34-year-old woman, a 56-year-old woman, a 67-year-old woman and a 63-year-old man) including a 9-month-old boy were injured. Another 9-month-old child died with injuries around 7 am on 26 January 2026 while receiving treatment. 3 fatalities. Subsequently, the military conducted drone strikes and dropped bombs with two drones around 5 pm and an airstrike with a fighter jet around 5:30 pm. Casualties unknown.
