On 24 January 2026, BLA militants attacked military forces and state-backed 'death squads' (coded as pro-government militia) in the Sorap area of Panjgur district (Panjgur, Balochistan). BLA claim militants targeted advancing military units moving both on foot and in multiple vehicles, including armored vehicles. The BLA claim that 12 military personnel were killed, six others were injured, and one military vehicle was destroyed during the clash. The group also claimed unspecified casualties among accompanying pro-government militias. Fatalities uncorroborated with 12 fatalities and 6 injured.
