On 30 January 2026, members of the Apuk sub-section of the Aliab section of the Agar Dinka community clashed with their counterparts from the Panyar section of the Agar Dinka at the Akan-Nhial cattle camp in Paloc Payam (Rumbek East County, Lakes State), resulting in 4 fatalities and 11 injuries. The incident was linked to revenge over a past conflict (no further information). The incident created tension in the area
