SAA event in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pasani, Peshawar area, Pakistan on Sun 8th February 2026

Militants managed to escape as Security Forces (SFs) personnel retaliated after a Police checkpoint came under attack in the Pasani village on the outskirts of Peshawar, the provincial capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on February 8, reports Dawn. Peshawar Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Dr Mian Saeed Ahmed said “the militants attacked the police post number 8, and an exchange of fire also took place, but the policemen, deployed at the facility, retaliated and the militants escaped.” No personnel or militant casualties or injuries were reported so far; however, the nature of the attack and physical losses were yet to be identified, added CCPO Ahmed.
