Police on February 7 averted a terrorist attempt by defusing a bomb in Wanda Amir area of Lakki Marwat District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reports Dawn. Police said a party of the Saddar Police Station was dispatched to the rural area when District Police Officer (DPO) Nazir Khan received intelligence reports from informers that terrorists had planted a bomb at a public place. “Police surrounded the area and called experts of bomb disposal squad to defuse the bomb,” he said, quoting experts as saying that the bomb weighed over 20 kilograms and it could have caused devastation in the locality had it exploded.
