SAA event in Maharashtra, Fodevada, Gadchiroli District area, India on Fri 6th February 2026

On February 6, four more Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres were killed in the anti-Maoist operation carried out in the forests of the Fodevada area under Bhamragad taluka (revenue division) in Gadchiroli District of Maharashtra on February 5, taking the Maoists death toll of to seven, reports Telangana Today.  In-charge of the CPI-Maoist Gadchiroli division committee, West Sub-Zonal Bureau and Company No 10, Loketi Chander Rao alias Padakala Swamyalias Ravi alias Prabhakar (53) of Telangana who carried a reward of INR 2.5 million on his head, was among the seven Maoists killed in the exchange of fire with Police. Security Forces (SFs) have recovered bodies of seven Maoists, four male and three female cadres, till end of operations on Friday night. Another jawan, Joga Madavi, was also injured in the same operation. Three AK-47 rifles, one Self-Loading Rifle (SLR) and one .303 weapon were also recovered from the spot. The identity of remaining Maoists was yet to be ascertained. The operation was launched following information about the presence of CPI-Maoist Company-10 cadres in Abujhmad area under the limits of Bhamragad Police sub-division of Maharashtra. Earlier, South Asia Terrorism Portal (SATP) it was reported that three CPI-Maoist cadres have been killed and a C-60 jawan, Deepak Chinna Madavi (38), a resident of Damrancha in Aheri, who was injured succumbed to his injuries during an encounter in the forests of the Fodevada area under Bhamragad taluka in Gadchiroli District on February 5.
