Projectile event in Balochistan, Jhao, Awaran District area, Pakistan on Thu 5th February 2026

On February 5, an attack on Security Forces (SFs) was reported using heavy weapons, resulting in hours of gunfire and explosions in the area in the Jhao area in Awaran District of Balochistan, reports Zrumbesh. According to locals, intense firing and explosions were heard from the direction of the forces’ camp.|On February 5, more than 100 people were detained by Security Forces (SFs) during operations carried out in multiple areas of Quetta, the provincial capital of Balochistan, and transferred to undisclosed locations, reports Zrumbesh. The Provincial Government claimed that over 100 “suspected individuals” were arrested during the operation and that small and large quantities of weapons were recovered from several houses. However, no evidence or details were provided to substantiate these claims.
