In Kayin State, near Pha Pun headquarters, clashes are also continuing to intensify. Reports indicate that in Kayin (Karen) State’s Kyeikto Township, a military column from base camps in Thaim Zayat opened fire and killed four local civilians.
On the morning of February 9, as over 200 troops from Thaim Zayat-based units advanced in a military column into Kyeikto Township, villagers from Mokmar—U Kyar Oo, U Aung Tin, U Saw Naung and Daw Aye—were killed by gunfire from the military commission troops while attempting to flee to safety, according to a revolutionary comrade who spoke to Majjim today (February 11).
