The Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and allied forces have captured three military bases in Waingmaw Township, seizing weapons, ammunition, and taking several junta soldiers prisoner, according to a KIA military source who spoke with Yangon Modern News.

The attacks occurred on February 2, when KIA units launched coordinated assaults on three junta bases in Waingmaw Township. The source said, “We took all three bases—those located in the rubber and banana plantations west of Waingmaw town. We’re still inspecting a large number of seized weapons and ammunition.”
