#Syria: aerial herbicide spraying by Israel in #Quneitra countryside now shows clear effects on the ground. Israel carried out similar spraying in S. Lebanon, with authorities saying samples revealed the chemical substance is glyphosate & that it was used at 20–30 times the normal concentration. https://news.un.org/en/story/2026/02/1166907 The same substance - potentially carcinogenic - was likely used in Quneitra province as well, raising serious concerns for public health & contamination of underground water reserves. In the areas sprayed, winter crops are destroyed, grazing grass for livestock is contaminated - affecting sheep herders - and even olive plantations weren't spared.
