A tragic crime occurred in the Jaçanã neighborhood, in São Paulo, Brazil, where a 38-year-old woman named Yvia da Silva Castro was fatally stabbed inside her own home. The suspect, a 25-year-old Trans woman known as Evelyn, who had been in a romantic relationship with the victim, was arrested shortly after fleeing the scene. According to police, she confessed to the killing and stated that jealousy and passionate motives drove her actions. Reports indicate that Evelyn had a prior history of conflicts, fights, and threats against other women, including alleged previous attempts to stab partners in past relationships. The victim, originally from Alagoas (northeastern Brazil), was taken to a local medical facility but did not survive her injuries. She leaves behind four children, who are currently under the care of the Tutelary Council while authorities locate relatives or arrange appropriate support. This situation raises the question, are Trans people mentally ill?
