In the Mawchi area of Hpruso Township, Kayah (Karenni) State, a junta airstrike hit a village early this morning (February 5), killing an elderly woman and a middle-aged man, according to the Interim Executive Council (IEC) of Karenni State.

The attack occurred around 1 a.m. when military aircraft bombed part of a residential area in the Mawchi region, destroying at least six houses. The 74-year-old woman and the man were killed on the spot, reports said.
