On January 23, Police, along with Counter-Intelligence Jalandhar, arrested four Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) operatives, identified as Diljot Singh, Harman Singh alias Harry, Ajay alias Mehra, Arshdeep Singh alias Arsh Kandola, and recovered 2.5 kilograms of Royal Demolition Explosive (RDX)-based Improvised Explosive Device (IED), two pistols and cartridges in Hoshiarpur District of Punjab, reports The Print. Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav said the modules were operated by foreign-based handlers, including United States of America (USA)-based operatives, and the IED was intended for a targeted attack ahead of Republic Day.|On January 23, Police arrested Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) operative, identified as Sharanpreet Singh and recovered a P-86 hand grenade, a 9 mm Glock pistol, five live cartridges and 65 grams of ICE (methamphetamine) in Amritsar District of Punjab, reports The Print.
