30th January 2026
On January 30, the Indian Army fired gunshots after Pakistani drones were reported flying near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Keran sector of Kupwara District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), reports Daily Excelsior. Following the warning shots, the drones retreated. Security agencies indicated that drones in this area could be used for surveillance or to aid infiltration attempts, including dropping weapons, communication devices, or narcotics. The Keran sector is strategically sensitive due to its proximity to traditional infiltration routes used by terrorists. No official comments have been made by defence sources.
