On Saturday, January 10, 2026, CMAC technical teams went to clear mines to create a safe area at the location of a vehicle explosion in a cassava field in Phum Val Vong village, Ta Sta commune, Sam Pou Loum district, Battambang province, where they discovered 3 tons of pure mines, specifically 2 clusters containing a total of 6 mines located nearby.

Note that this farmland has been cultivated for nearly 30 years since the end of the civil war in Cambodia.
