The Yobe State Police Command has arrested a 50-year-old man for allegedly killing a suspected rival over a domestic dispute in Bundila Village, Gulani Local Government Area.
Sources said the incident occurred at about 12:30 p.m. on Sunday when Alhaji Hassan Umaru allegedly attacked Sukari Abdul, 45, with a cutlass at Bundila Market.
According to the sources, Umaru suspected Abdul of having an affair with his wife. The victim, a Fulani herder, was rushed to Bularaba Primary Health Care Centre for medical attention but was confirmed dead on arrival by the attending doctor.
“The corpse has been released to the relatives for burial according to Islamic rites. The suspect has been apprehended, and the cutlass used in the attack has been recovered,” the sources said.
