On 23 January 2026, in Tres Rios (Rio de Janeiro), the military police exchanged fire with drug traffickers during a police patrol in the Vila Isabel neighborhood. Agents arrested a teenage drug trafficker, who suffered injuries while attempting to run from the police, and seized drugs and a cellphone. There were no fatalities.
