On 22 January 2026, in Brejo Grande (Sergipe), civil police officers exchanged fire with two unidentified armed suspects. The officers conducted an operation to locate a suspect, who was wanted for homicide and drug trafficking. The wanted suspect and a second man resisted the approach and fired against the officers, leading to an armed clash. Both suspects were shot and killed
