On 20 January 2026, unidentified armed men (coded as Baloch Separatists) opened fire on police personnel in the Shalkot police station area in Quetta city (Quetta, Balochistan), injuring one officer. Police returned fire, arresting one attacker in injured condition while others fled. 2 wounded and no fatalities.
