On 16 January 2026, in Pauk Taw village (Sagaing township, Sagaing district, Sagaing region), the local resistance groups attacked an outpost of the Myanmar military on the Sagaing-Min Kun road section in the evening. The Myanmar military in Kyet Daunt village fired heavy weapons during the armed clash, forcing the locals to flee. The fighting lasted about 3 hours. Casualties unknown.
