On 16 January 2026, in Chin Hnit village (Mindon township, Thayet district, Magway region), a Myanmar military column of approximately 200 soldiers, advancing from the Sin Kaw police station in Kamma township, reached a monastery in the village and indiscriminately fired heavy weapons in the morning. Casualties unknown.
