Around 15 January 2026 (as reported), in Sittwe town (Sittwe township, Sittwe district, Rakhine state), two Myanmar military soldiers got into an argument while drinking alcohol. During the altercation, one of them pulled out a hand grenade and detonated it. Both soldiers were hit by shrapnel and killed from their injuries. 2 fatalities.
