On 15 January 2026, near Sagaing town (Sagaing township, Sagaing district, Sagaing region), a combined force of the the People's Defense Force - Sagaing, the Eagle Brothers Guerrilla Force (Sagaing) and the People's Defense Force - Sagaing (PaKaPha) attacked and captured the Kan Ta Lu tollgate stationed by about 20 Myanmar military troops at about 9:20 pm. The two sides exchanged fire for about 30 minutes. The combined force subsequently withdrew after military reinforcements in about 22 vehicles arrived. 3 military troops were killed. 3 fatalities.
