On 15 January 2026, near Thar Yar Mon village (coded as Yebyu) (Yebyu township, Dawei district, Tanintharyi region), fighting broke out between the Myanmar military and the Karen National Liberation Army (KNU/KNLA) at around 10:30 am. A 40-year-old civilian man who was working in a rubber plantation was killed in the crossfire. The fighting lasted about 20 minutes. 1 fatality.
