On 15 January 2026, in Manta (Manta, Manabi), an unknown number of armed assailants in a car, suspected Los Lobos gang members, shot and killed two men, suspected Los Choneros members, in a drive-by shooting on street 310 and Avenue 211, in San Pedro neighborhood. Both victims were taken to the hospital, where they succumbed to their wounds. Authorities arrested four men. Police indicated that they were Los Lobos gang members hired to kill Los Choneros gang members. 2 fatalities.
