On 15 January 2026, in Salvador - Centro (Bahia), an off-duty military police officer exchanged fire with three CV members on Lafayete Coutinho Avenue. Despite being off-duty, the officer was armed and fired against the suspects during a theft attempt. An armed clash took place and the officer and one of the suspects were shot and killed. The suspect was a CV member and had a police record for drug trafficking and other crimes. He was on the open regime since 2024. The two remaining suspects were later arrested. 2 fatalities.
