Around 15 January 2026 (as reported), in Ponta de Pedras (Para), a member of a drug trafficking group clashed with military police during an armed robbery with hostages, opening fire and injuring a police officer before fleeing into a forested area. The suspect escaped and remained at large until his later arrest. There were no fatalities.
