On 15 January 2026, in Bom Jardim (Maranhao), military police officers exchanged fire with drug traffickers. The officers conducted an operation after receiving reports about the presence of the suspects at a house in which they were selling drugs. The officers approached the suspects, who fired against them. An armed clash took place and an officer was shot and injured. Two suspects were killed and a third one was arrested. 2 fatalities.
