On 15 January 2026, the Rapid Support Forces attacked the Chadian military in the area of Tine-Djagaraba (Iriba, Wadi Fira), killing 7 Chadian soldiers. After this second attack of RSF against Chadian objectives, the department authorities established a curfew between 8pm and 5am until further notice. Later, the Government of Chad denounced a violation of Chad's territorial integrity and warned the Sudanese warring parties that the Chadian military will carry out military responses in case of future violations. In the following days, the RSF publicly apologized through the publication of a statement as well as underlining their respect for Chadian sovereignty and internationally recognized borders.
